Hayes Murphy (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma) is a stickball player, Anthropology student, and Native American Student Services intern at the University of Arkansas. Born and raised in Northwest Arkansas, Hayes enjoys connecting with his Native community through stickball and other cultural activities. Over the past three years, Hayes has brought his passion for stickball to the University of Arkansas campus through presentations, exhibitions, and tournaments. This work has allowed him to deepen his own knowledge of Choctaw culture, while providing an inclusive atmosphere for Indigenous students on campus to connect with the greater Native community across Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
